Takedanger Design is the studio of director and designer Ted Rouse

Prior to launching Takedanger Design as a full-time endeavour, Ted worked as the in-house art director at Canadian Stage where he oversaw every aspect of the design of all in-house print and online material for one of Canada’s largest theatre companies.

Through various marketing and design agencies in Toronto, he has also contributed to the design of material for brands such as Procter & Gamble, Kraft, Heinz, Wrigley Canada, The Schulich Executive Education Centre, Save a Child’s Heart Foundation, Panorama Software, Keating Channel Pub & Grill, Registered Nurses of Ontario, Toronto Ultimate Club, and Nygard Home.

He lives and works in beautiful Port Hope, Ontario, reads a lot of comics, and has a cat named Greta and a dog named Gobo.

Why “Takedanger Design?”

While still at Design School, one of my professors wondered aloud “Why do we always tell people to ‘take care’ when we say goodbye? What if, just once, we advised them to ‘take danger’ instead? How would they react? How would that change their actions that day? What kind of unexpected paths would they travel based on this advice, and what kind of rewards would they discover as a result of those paths?”

This is what Takedanger Design stands for. It’s not about playing dangerous with the safety and stability of your brand communications – but rather about exploring the unanticipated, discovering magic in the accidental, and taking joy in the rewards that can be found along the unexpected paths.
